(Kempen) PORTICA GmbH Marketing Support has released a new web application which allows its customers to independently and conveniently manage their master data, including product data, using a single interface: PORTICA Integrated System Administration, or isa for short. The best part: the data is shared with PORTICA’s ERP system and the PORTICA Shop in a bidirectional interface. Customers benefit from consolidated product management and simplified processes.
With isa, PORTICA makes it easier for customers to set up new products or manage product data. The Kempen-based service provider had previously carried out product data management on behalf of the customer: when creating a new entry, the basic descriptive and administrative features of the product (such as product numbers, descriptions, classes and categories, prices, minimum orders etc.) were entered into the ERP system. The data then made its way via an interface to the Shop, where the customer would organise it into marketing descriptions, cross-selling articles, images and others. This process involved a number of people, and any queries would lead to delays. PORTICA therefore developed an alternative, in the form of isa, to automate and consolidate product data management.
“isa provides a significant workload reduction, especially for those of our customers with thousands of products”, explained Christoph Janssen, Senior Manager Service at PORTICA GmbH Marketing Support. “It lets them manage all product data centrally with a single interface, whether it is stored in the ERP system or in the Shop.”
To manage their data, PORTICA customers log on to isa online and find existing product data clearly listed. They can also display portions of this list using the diverse range of filtering functions available. Status buttons show them whether the product is already available in the web shop or if it is still being processed or waiting for approval. The customer can click on an item and configure it individually or edit the relevant data. All work done in isa is logged. In addition, shipping lists for each product can be downloaded directly from isa. To make it easier to set up new items, PORTICA configures isa according to the customer’s requirements, customising fields and processes as necessary. Further input assistance, such as when selecting customs tariff numbers, can be set up and integrated. Likewise, the approval process can be customised to meet individual needs, images and PDFs can be attached, and order limits and instructions for consignment can be managed.
PORTICA isa is available now. It is based on LAMP technology, which combines the Linux operating system, an Apache web server, a MySQL database and the PHP programming language.About PORTICA GmbH Marketing Support:
