Smooth and refreshing: PORTICA delivers Hofbräuhaus items direct to the customer

(Kempen). It’s a gift for sellers and fans of Hofbräuhaus merchandise: the brewery has a new official online shop at  http://www.hofbraeuhaus-shop.de/. Anyone ordering merchandise there will enjoy professional service now that PORTICA GmbH Marketing Support has taken over the reorganisation of the web shop and every aspect of logistics, payment and accounting for CHAPS Merchandising GmbH, the new licensee for Hofbräuhaus merchandise.

PORTICA convinced CHAPS with its competence in the sector and its ideal portfolio of services, allowing the project to start at the beginning of July 2011. “The challenge was to develop, as part of a relaunch, a hybrid B2B and B2C shop which conformed to the corporate identity and guaranteed optimal e-marketing, as well as reorganising the logistics behind it”, explains Norbert Haab, Senior Manager Professional Services at PORTICA. Both sellers and end-users of Hofbräuhaus merchandise should be able to select from and conveniently order a broad, soon to be overhauled range of products.

In collaboration with CHAPS, PRINCE2TM-certified project managers from the Professional Services department implemented the web shop, the accounts receivable management system, and the logistics. The web shop has a wide range of options for usability and administration. Using individually-generated templates, the user interface layout was customised to CHAPS’ needs, to match the look and feel of the Hofbräuhaus image. End-users can make purchases without having to register an account. On the business side, there is the option to set minimum order sizes depending on the customer. A payment management system has been integrated with the help of the payment service provider Ogone, allowing customers to pay conveniently by credit card or PayPal. These options will be expanded with further payment methods in the near future.

CHAPS administrators can also use a number of back-end features and manage the web shop’s content on their own. This includes user and item management as well as the professionally implemented CMS functions. Using a tracking system provided by Econda, they can examine analytical reports.

The shop is based on the OXID eShop Enterprise Edition and is linked up to PORTICA’s ERP system. At the same time as the system was implemented, around 120 different items, from beer tankards to cigarette lighters, were transferred to PORTICA’s warehouse, guaranteeing that incoming orders will be processed as fast as possible. After checking that incoming goods conform to product specifications, the ISO-certified eFulfilment Specialist stores items, picks them out and ships them worldwide. A complete debtor management system, including payment reminders and collection, and an efficient returns system round out these services, which once again expand PORTICA’s marketing and sales services in the merchandising sector.
