The Rebate Act introduced in Germany in 1933 was abolished in 2001. Accordingly many forms of rebates are now possible. An interesting form is called the cash-back (also mail-in rebate). With this a company can grant a buyer a rebate by means of invoice or EAN evidence. Surveys in the USA, where this form of rebate has already been in use for many years, have shown that 60% of buyers hand in the necessary documents. Already really big in the USA, the cash-back wave is now swashing over to Europe.

Although cash-back is already being used in many cases as an interesting marketing tool, many market participants do not know enough about the possibilities of this tool.
